The largest drawback to driving a Healey these days is the heat.\u00a0 It has always been a disturbing fact of Healey life that the cars generate a considerable amount of heat.\u00a0 So much heat is generated \u00a0that the heaters are seldom used.\u00a0\u00a0 Over the years, many approaches have been tried.\u00a0 The approach with the best results is the most involved: Air Conditioning.\u00a0 Installing an A\/C System is not to be undertaken lightly.\u00a0 The expense in time and money is not inconsiderable.\u00a0 However, the results will bring the joy back to driving your Healey.<\/p>\n

Considerations:<\/p>\n

What is the condition of your cooling system?\u00a0 You will probably want an aluminum radiator.\u00a0 I suggest an electric fan, either 14 or 15 inches mounted on the front side of the Xbrace.<\/p>\n

You will need a condenser.\u00a0 I offer one that fits.\u00a0 There are other out there if you have the time and patience to find one.<\/p>\n

Which evaporator do you want?\u00a0 Do you want heat and\/or defrost in addition to A\/C?\u00a0 Vacuum, cable, or electric door activation must be decided upon.<\/p>\n

If your car is not already negative ground, it will have to be converted.\u00a0 The Voltage Regulator will need to be turned into a junction block.\u00a0 Your fuel pump must be negative ground.\u00a0 The coil leads, as well as battery leads must be reversed.\u00a0 If you have a BJ8, the tachometer will have to be converted.\u00a0\u00a0 More than a couple of wires will have to be added to your harness.<\/p>\n
